AMA feedack and/or con reports

This thread is archived.

  • The title says it all.

So far for me, in spite of technological difficulties at karaoke, I am having a blast. Congoers this time around are much more friendly and social$ but can someone kill the meme shouting?

  • I was actually pining for the buttscratcher meme to replace the constant Red Robin crap Dx

I had fun, more than I thought I would, honestly. I loved Dizzy Lizzy's panel earlier today, and Robert Aldrich's authoring and new media panels (he is an awesome man). One highlight was a friend and I gave Todd Haberkorn a Burger King crown since we'd just gotten back from eating. I thought it was funny.

I'll try and post more when I'm done being grouchy-tired :)

  • I want to start smart memes to kill dumb ones. I tried mobius strip amd started shouting "schroedingers's cat" (spelling?) But to no avail.

  • Had a lot of fun. As usual the cosplay contest is the highlight, but I have to say, it was sad to see how disorganized lots of things at the convention were. I think since they have the two year contact to that area, a lot of people were not excited about coming back to such a cramped place

ah well, I just hope to see more skits next year!!

  • I don't know what it would be, but there's got to be some way to manage lines better. I was interested in the Reni Mimura show - in the dealer's room, she asked me so nicely to come by - but there was still a line three hallways long to get in well after the program said the show had started. I gave up and got a desperately-needed dinner.

  • Another thing I want to add is that I still do NOT like the location. I really don't like having to walk between buildings when panels are back to back, especially since it's so freakin' hot every year. The fact that there are also no crosswalks whatsoever on Woodlake also drove me crazy. It was literally like Congoer Frogger. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a new location for next year, but I'm not holding my breath.

Also, I think in terms of musical guests they could do better than they have for the past couple years. I've always gone to the concerts at every con I've been to, even if I'm not a fan of the artist. This year I had absolutely no interest in Eien Strife, the Moe Moe dancers or whatever the heck they were, or the DJs/rappers/whatever. It made me sad in the face that there were three musical acts and not a one of them appealed to me.

Btw, does anyone know who won the Masquerade and Fan Favorite contests? I had to leave before either were announced. Random question is random.

Well, their two year contract with the location is up so there might be a move next year. As for the masquerade, the FF7 skit won Best in Show if I recall correctly.

  • Who won fan favorite?

  •
Who won fan favorite?
My friends son won fan favorite. He was the little Link!

  •
Stormraven, Around 11:15P DJ Jesse James hit the decks at the Saturday night rave with a variety of dance music, everything form House, to Trance, to Techno, to Dubstep. Were you present for that?
I was not. I don't like raves because even though I'm not claustrophobic I really don't like being in that close of an environment (heat + stink + crowd = me not happy). I'm not talking so much about DJs as I am live music as that I have more experience with.

  • I'm glad the young link won. Imagine being his age and winning a competitive cosplay contest like that! I'll be sure to enter next year cuz I couldn't this time; but even if I did participate this year I wouldn't have minded losing lol

  • I had a really good time, and it was a nice con, but HEAT IS HOT. D8

I was wearing a pretty comfortable costume and I was still sizzling by the time I got from the convention center to the hotel and vice-versa. I hope they have it at the HRCC again, it was really nice when they had it there a couple of years ago. I don't know if there's something going on with Neko and that's why the can't have it, but it would be really cool if they could hold it there again. I like the photoshoot areas better at the HRCC anyway. XD But I liked the panels, especially the Voice Actor one, I learned quite a bit and it was entertaining. :3 Also a big thank you to anyone who said hi to me or liked my cosplay (I was Toph from Avatar on Saturday with the big momo), you guys totally made my weekend. TT^TT THANK YOU.

Only reason i wouldn't want it back there is because they will try to "tax" an extra $8 on the badges again.

I personally don't mind it being where it is, because the con is shrinking, and not only that, but it is a small con to begin with.

First i would say more trash cans, every time i needed one i had to walk a country mile to get to one.

Second, while being small but nicely quiet due to headphones and no real con funk, the Halo room....I mean Game room was alright. For real your going to have 22 stations set up and 11 of those are Halo? There also wasn't much of a "difference" in the games, you could either shoot, fight, or dance. That was it. Just more variety next time. Or at least rotate games not being played. I will say also that i liked that for some of the fighting games they had the choice of either Pad or stick.

Third, great job on the amount of water available. Only once did i run into an inability to get said water.

Ahh, yes, well, I'd rather not have to pay more. O__o I just wish it was in one building, at least. :3

And I just realized I meant to write 'they' and not 'the'. LOLWhoops. .__.
