Hi I want to cosplay Chii in this
I already have the wig and can figure out the ears, but I was hoping someone could help me with ideas for how to make the dress. Has anyone made this before?
Any help would be great!
Thanks :)

For the top, I would use a corset pattern that can be modified a bit like Vogue 2810. I use this pattern often, and for the front, I just cut it on a fold (removing the 5/8" seam allowance of course) and then omit the part that the eyelets go in because it just makes it fit weird to me. You can then add all your black detail to the seams and run ribbon around to look like lacing, even maybe lacing the back in black ribbon. And the ruffles can be added to the seams and edges as well. I've used my heavily altered version of this pattern to make a lot of corsets (you can check out this gallery to see the ones I've made).

For the sleeves, I would suggest just using a basic long sleeve pattern (if you need one, if not, cut out pretty much a tapered cylinder that fits your arm) to make the fitted part. Then you can cut a really long, wide piece, gather it at the bottom til it fits the sleeve part, and then make a casing and put elastic around the top to fit your upper arm.

I would make an underskirt that is a circle skirt with a petticoat. Then you can make a long train that comes off the back of it in layers with all the ruffles. Once that's done, wrap black ribbon around it.

That's a quick idea of what I would do. I don't know if someone else might have better ideas, but I hope I might have helped some.

I have made this outfit and first things first, be prepared to hate ruffles for the rest of your life if you choose to make this one. I can get you a breakdown of the patterns that I used and answer any questions about the construction, but I do ask that you do not make the side just a fall of ruffles.

That would be amazing! I would love the patterns and to see your completed costume. I agree, I am going to make the skirt shorter so it doesn't get stepped on and less ruffles.
