This thread is for posting your thoughts/opinions on AZ 2014!

From your experience this year, what were the pros and cons? What were the highlights and lowlights? Would you return again next year?

Also, you can discuss the particulars of the convention, such as the events, panels, masquerade, dances, etc., as well as what you thought about the con and hotel staff, the guests, convention space, food, dealer's room, attendees, and whatever else pertaining to this year's Animazement!

While, I've never had anything but good experiences with the AZ staffers themselves, I hope whoever they brought in to run the sound systems gets a stern talking too. It seems like every panel I attended had audio problems of one kind or another, and getting a hold of someone who actually knew how to fix it was never easy.

Other than that, I had a pretty awesome time at Animazement, as always. Giving Artist Alley its own room was a VERY good idea, it really helped the crowd issues. And seeing how the attendance jumped like CRAZY this year, the mere fact that the staff kept everything from collapsing into total anarchy deserves praise. (You know, they kept it at just partial anarchy, like usual) And, as always, AZ had the best Game Room(s) this side of MAGFest.

This was not only my first time at Animazement, but also my first con ever! Overall, I enjoyed myself at the con. I was alone pretty much the whole time, which did bother me at times, but I actually didn't mind it most other times because it gave me the chance to explore and go to panels I probably would have missed if I was with a group. I thought the staff was great, and I really appreciate what it is that Animazement tries to accomplish as a convention. I think they do a great job.

My most favorite thing that I got to experience was meeting Sho Asano and getting a couple of photos with him and his autograph. I really hope he comes back next year because it is so awesome getting to interact with him, and listening to him perform. I also enjoyed the different guest panels I went to, and I preferred them way more than the fan panels.

My only complaint is that I was not a huge fan of the attendees. And I don't mean all the attendees, overall, people were pretty nice. But there were a few times I witnessed someone being a total jerk and disrespectful to a guest. I won't say what panel I was in, or for what guest it was, but I did overhear an attendee making rude comments about a guest and I was very upset with that. This guest took the time out of their life to travel to an unfamiliar, foreign country to make an appearance for fans, and someone really has the audacity to make a rude comment about them? That is just plain disrespectful. Also, I heard quite a few rude comments during the award ceremony at the masquerade, which bothered me as well. People can be very judgmental, and just downright rude. Obviously, this is not the conventions fault. It is the fault of the people who had something mean to say, but I did not enjoy having to listen to people complain about nonsense.

Still, I had a good time at the con, and I can't wait to go next year!
