Has anyone else been watching Outlander and drooling over those 18th century dresses. AND the kilts AND the knitted wraps.

I'm not sure I'm ready to tackle that style of corsetry but I have lots of lovely wool that is just begging to be one of those dresses.

Omg yessss. It's my dream to make Claire's wedding dress one day! It's just so detailed and stunning. There are some lovely 18th century style dress patterns from Simplicity and McCall that I'm sure could help you!

One of my hobbies is to make 18th century corsets. And I am swooning over Outlander all the time. I wish there would be more episodes out.

Here's some undergarments I have sewn. :)

Gorgeous! Where would I start? What pattern do you use? I've made a corded bodice based off of the Elizabethan Corset Generator.

I am dying to to a Femme Jamie Fraser cosplay but damn it will be expensive. I found a place to design my own tartan but the kilt alone would cost more than the rest of the costume. It's Still on my wishlist though.

I know a guy who is learning how to weave so he can make his own kilt someday. That might be easier than buying one of those expensive plaids.

Here's the blog for the costume designer for Outlander. http://www.terrydresbach.com

That's pretty cool but the cost of the loom alone would make it a no for me. Thanks for the link.
