Hi Y'all. This is me...

  • Hello,

My name is FundipYoshi. I am a 27 year old single straight male. I have a degree in ASL/Deaf Studies, Visual Communications, and New Media (Video). I am a low-key YouTuber and a Cosplayer. I normally cosplay animals, which includes Pokemon and Digimon, but I also do a mean Chained Crowley. That being said, I am a furry, but I normally can't do the head pieces, since I get claustrophobic with full masks/heads on my face, so I do open-faced fursuits or cosplays. I have a really unique start to cosplay, as I started cosplaying based on the TV show Big Brother. After I saw some of the "punishment" costumes being worn on there, I knew I needed to start doing cosplay stuff. I have been doing cons for about 2+ full years and panels for about 2 years.

I normally commission all my cosplays as I am not good with my hands, when it comes to sewing that is. I am pretty bad, even though I wouldn't mind learning how to do a better job someday (thank you Project Runway for my yearning to sew). My next couple of cosplays that I plan to commission includes a Guilmon full cosplay, more than a partial open-faced dog fursuit (think partial, but with a elbow length fur shirt and shorts or like overalls-ish), another Pokemon (haven't decided, but something with a tail), and Green Arrow.

Current list of cosplays I have are:
    Umbreon
    Zangoose (on a hiatus)
    Mega Charizard X
    Dragonite
    Alolan Sandslash
    A Bear costume
    Boney (from Mother 3)
    Gaomon
    Chained Crowley (Supernatural)
    Nick Wilde
Shadow Lugia (Commission has been started)
and some random kigus I have.

I don't have many friends in my social/personal life, so I hope to meet some new people and make some new/better memories. Thanks y'all for taking time to meet me.

    *hugs*

  • Welcome! -hugs back-
I'm sorta new to cosplay too; been on and off but now I'm here to stay. I read through your post and you have a very interesting background :). About the Big Brother thing, do you mean they had to wear things they wouldn't wear normally or an awkwardly made costume?
I'm glad you found good commissioners, because that tends to be a grey area with this hobby. Not that you should be put off, this just tends to happen more often then not so it's great you've had success.
I recommend you have water with you since you tend to do a lot of furries, and it'll be hot even if you're not wearing the head piece.
I would love to see your Guilmon cosplay; and speaking of Digimon I'm looking to make Kazemon for next year. Already got a base to start with. And speaking of superheroes I put live-action Wonder Woman on my wishlist, but I'm going as the Justice League Action version for March Comic Con.
There should be lots to do during the summer, so keep at it!

  • Thank you for the warm welcome.

When I mean Big Brother inspiration, I mean that a person would have to wear a costume for a period of time. The main costume that started me cosplaying was someone had to wear a dog suit for 24 hours, due to losing a competitions(he chose that punishment). I also liked the Dino and Penguin costumes that was worn as well, and I have the bear costume that was worn in BB Canada.

Some commissioners have been good, but I have been scammed once or twice before, so I know about that gray area! I normally bring a water bottle with me to cons, just for the reason. I wear lots of fleece or non-fursuit heavy fur, and I still sweat a ton. I need to get some underarmor or something to help out with that as well.

For Guilmon, I have to wait til I get my Shadow Lugia and Nick Wilde cosplays paid off first. I am hoping to have Guilmon before Ohayocon 2018, since I am thinking about hosting a Digimon Photoshoot. I might commission Guilmon on here!

This summer is making sure my panels are ready for my fall cons. Gonna be a busy summer!

  • No problem ^_^
Ouch, yeah I know that feeling, that actually happened to me the first time I wanted to buy a costume...I was so close to getting it, but things didn't turn out so well.
I see, yeah the BB punishment thing was what I thought, I don't watch it myself though.
Yeah I totally reccommend wearing workout clothes under it, it can help. I actually wore yoga pants with a costume this year but doubled as her pants, since regular cotton or jeans weren't quite what I was looking for.
I'm wearing my Kazemon for Anime North 2018, so yeah I won't be wearing mine anytime soon either. For Guilmon maybe you can ask for the head piece to left open around the eye/mouth area so you have air coming through, but you mentioned being claustophobic - but just an idea I'm pitching out.
    Have fun at your panels!
