Thank you for the information! :D I think I'm very tempted to buy real leather then.
I'm not sure where you are located, but in the US and Canada, as far as I have seen, Tandy Leather is a highly recommended supplier for leather goods and accessories. :)

Thank you for the recommendation! I live in belgium, but I found a shop that's not too far from college so I hope I can get there in the next couple of weeks while I'm at the dorm. They are specialized in leather (also pleather and such) so I might take a look how much they're asking c:

I've worked with leather quite a bit and it is an amazing product, despite the price. I would recomend getting a small kit (they sell these at most leather shops) that lets you try out things like stitching, stamping, etc. Its a cheap way to determine if you like working with the stuff. Some of it though, works qutie like strong fabrics. Indeed, at some fabric supply stores you can find a box of leather scraps, which is a great way to get leather for small projects cheaply.

UGHHHHHHH I did a stupid and WASHED my red undershirt for Hawke. It's made of silk dupioni for the richness of the color and the texture. And it ruined the texture and the color isn't as vibrant.

Will have to remake it soon.

Aside from ruining my silk shirt for Hawke, the fantasy weekend at our local faire went well! Here's some photos:

Wow, your Hawke looks fantastic! Lots of attention to detail *O*

I'm really tempted to cosplay my inquisitor... but I'm worried I wont be recognized, I'll be wearing the Rogue wear, but yeah.

AW Thank you! :DD

You should go for it! I find having recognizable symbols help, but also, GET A FRIEND TO BE A COMPANION :DD

Yup! The armor will have the inquisition symbol on it, and I think some shoulder armor? I WANT TO! I have one friend that is getting into Inquisition and I might have to bully- I mean ask her to cosplay someone... Let the mission begin!

Definitely wear your Inquisitor :D My first time taking mine out, it was barely half-finished but I had loads of comments and everyone who spoke to me knew exactly who I was supposed to be. Actually, I think I had more comments the first time than I've ever had since

#25 Charlemagne on 3 years ago

I've considered cosplaying my Inquisitor, since she resembles my Hawke (short black hair and such), and since my partner cosplays Cullen, but I don't think I will. Since I'm not my partner's Inquisitor that she played through with, but mine, it would be odd for her.

Whoa, everyone's wip's look amazing o.o I suck at working with leather, it's definitely something I have to improve on. I just finished attaching the 60 silver flies I cast out of thibra to Morrigan's dress, it's so pretty and it's really starting to look recognizable now. :D Her sleeves and gloves are almost finished too, and the corset and accessories are finally patterned. The only big thing I have left to do is make and stud the actual corset. I'm so glad this is going smoothly so far.

I want to see pictures!! :DDD Please?

I'm not sure when my next Dragon Age project (Grey Warden armor/Warden King Alistair) will commence - got Sailor Moon and Star Wars items in line first. But here are a few more pics of my partner and I at the local renaissance faire, taken while we were unaware and having a quiet conversation (about how hot it was and if we were feeling okay and perhaps we should take off all this damn armor, lol).

Oh, definitely! Just gotta finish a couple more things and I'll post :D
Also, your ren faire pics are making me nostalgic, I moved away from my usual one a while back and haven't been to one since D: I mean sure, it was the same thing every year but I miss the atmosphere.

I'm ridiculously pleased that I have finally finished knitting and priming my Warden's foam scale maille! :D Most of them have now had two coats of silver PlastiKote so once the last two lengths are sprayed, I'm done with them until I have them sewn onto my brigandine and start aging and weathering.

I started knitting the scales on 28th January and was forced to start over again the following day after my Bengal managed to steal my first attempt and played with it to death and I've lost count of how many hours have gone into them, but including the destroyed original and a few spares, I've cut out around 1,600 scales from craft foam! :eeek: But they're done at last! Hooray! I'm hoping the rest of the costume goes significantly faster, as I was hoping to take Mahariel to a Dragon Age weekend event at the end of June.

Next job is to get my sewing machine serviced and sorted out, otherwise I'll be quilting my jacket by hand!

Yay, a Dragon Age thread! I've got just the one, Inquisitor Trevelyan, but I've also got a pile of foam Meredith armor that needs painting probably toward the end of the summer. This costume earned me a Judge's Choice Award at Louisianime 2016 because of hidden pockets everywhere + modular armor design (hidden velcro!).
