I washed my Tohru costume dress first by hand and then in the wash. The white frilly part turned purple ish! How do I change it back to white without ruining the blue fabric on the dress? Thank you.

The purple bled. The commercial detergent in the washer was the culprit.

Just keep washing BY HAND, it's all you really can do. Unless you want to disassemble it so you can wash the white by itself.

If it's an all-over tone and not splotches...yeah, the only way to bleach it (assuming the fabric can even take bleach) is to take the costume apart, wash the white, and then sew it back together. Bleach pens/tide pens are for spots, not for an all-over color tint when dye bleeds.

Might help, might not. Quilts are generally made from 100% cotton and can handle the heat suggested.

Thank you for the feedback. I will try washing the white part again, but not detach it from the dress.
