The City of Azusa's Recreation and Family Services Department presents the 2017 Azusa Golden Days Parade. We are proud to represent the anime and cosplay community in San Gabriel Valley and other parts of Southern California! Parade participation is free and cosplayers with family-friendly costumes and from all cosplay skill levels are strongly encouraged to attend!

We will be meeting near the parking lot of Canyon City Liquor, where most of the parade participants will be forming on Foothill Boulevard and Sunset Avenue. We will have signs near the area in order to find us. Please be prepared to walk in the parade when you meet at the parade location by 9:30. The Golden Days Parade will start promptly at 10:00AM, so don't be late!

In addition to the Golden Days Parade, the Golden Days Carnival will be taking place from 12:00PM to 11:00PM at Memorial Park, where rides, food and game booths and other entertainment will be on hand to keep the festivities going!

Here are some rules that the Golden Days Festival wants us to know:

1) During the parade, distribution of any kind of items, including literature or candy, by any parade participant is strictly forbidden. This also includes political advertising

2) Space at the start of the parade will be maintained with forward motion throughout the parade route.

Finally, a friendly reminder that parade participants must be cosplaying a distinct character from a TV show, anime, comic/manga or video game series unless it is an original creation and in cosplay at the time of the parade. We will be making exceptions for Little Tokyo Cosplayers staff, assistants to cosplayers with disabilities and parents/guardians that will be escorting small children. Friends of cosplayers that are not in costume will not be permitted to walk in the parade, as the focus will be on our cosplay participants. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The Azusa Golden Days Parade route is approximately one mile long with average high temperatures in October during parade day are approximately in the low to mid 90's with full sun. Once started, the parade will run approximately 2-3 hours. However once our parade entry reaches the end of the parade route, everyone is free to enjoy the rest of their day. We encourage parade participants to carry a water bottle, comfortable shoes, sunblock and/or a parasol/umbrella. Also, please be aware that the City of Azusa Police Department will be on duty monitoring the parade area and Memorial Park, where the parade ends. Please make sure that your costumes follow local community guidelines and will not cause disruption to the festivities.

To be considered a participant in our parade entry, please contact us at 626-244-2405 (text and voicemail only) AND complete our parade participant / waiver form here at

Also, make sure to tell your friends!

Thanks so much in advance for your participation in this year's event! We look forward to seeing you :D
