Hello everyone! I'm in search of some help making Liz and Patty's hats from Soul Eater.

I am wanting to make it from scratch so it can look as closely as possible but I really dont know where to start.

You can use buckram or plastic canvas to stiffen the base. It's pretty easy to shape, too. Buckram is expensive but easier to work with, and plastic canvas is cheap but a pain in the ass. D:

The rest looks pretty self-explanatory. You might want to stuff some batting into the part that sticks up, just so it holds its shape

would i use the buckram or plastic canvas to shape out the hat shape itself or should I built it off an already made white cowboy hat?

I was also thinking of using blue felt for the blue parts and gluing the white strips on to the hats....
